Shawmut Design and Construction has appointed Tony Miliote to VP of Tri-State. Miliote will oversee the continued growth of Shawmut's footprint in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut in the academic, cultural and historic, and healthcare sectors.
"Tony has played an important role in the growth of our company, cultivating relationships with many of our marquee clients," said Tom Goemaat, CEO of Shawmut. "As a valuable member of our senior management team, I am confident Tony will meet Shawmut's goal of doubling our business in the Tri-State area."
He joined Shawmut in 2004 and in his previous role as VP of academic is credited with growing public business to over $150 million within one year. He has worked with top-tier institutions in the New England & Tri-State regions in the academic, cultural and historic, and healthcare sectors.
"I grew up in New Jersey and started my career in construction in the Tri-State area, so I couldn't be more excited to move home to the region I love," said Miliote. "I look forward to building on Shawmut's existing portfolio of exciting partners, which includes Apple, the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Waldorf Astoria, Convent of the Sacred Heart, and many luxury retail brands along Madison Avenue and elsewhere."

Miliote has more than 20 years of experience in the construction industry. He is a graduate of Clemson University; an LEED Accredited Professional; and is 10 Hour OSHA Certified. He resides in New Jersey.

Shawmut's previous Vice President of Tri-State, Les Hiscoe, now serves as Shawmut's Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
