What recent project, accomplishment or award are you most proud of? I am proud of our local and regional senior housing relationships. We are working/have worked with every major provider in our area on their strategic planning and vision for repositioning not only their communities, but the senior living market.
What do you like best about being a woman in the AEC industry? I would have to say answering this question! I get asked this specific question so often as if it were something odd for woman to be in this industry. I adore the strong support network I have built-up over the years
What recent project, accomplishment or award are you most proud of? In 2023, I was honored with a Proclamation from the Westchester County Board of Legislators, became a Real Estate Specialist, & I accepted the prestigious ‘Millennial of the Year’ Award. These accomplishments fill me with pride & gratitude and are testaments to the support & opportunities I’m fortunate for.
What recent project, accomplishment or award are you most proud of? I am proud to have worked on 3 Times Square’s amenity floor, a pivotal part of the building’s repositioning. We brought a sense of hospitality into the office building through inviting furnishings and materials. It offers tenants a serene oasis in Times Square, from morning cappuccinos to evening cocktails.
What is one of the most exciting developments or innovations impacting the AEC industry right now? BIM technology has transformed the way we design, plan, and build projects, which gives us the ability to identify potential issues before they arise on site. For architects, this tool facilitates real-time visualization, allowing clients to make faster and more informed decisions.
What do you like best about being a woman in the AEC industry? In the AEC industry there are unique challenges and opportunities alike. There are opportunities to create the future by designing roads, bridges, tunnels, and transit systems. You can deliver clean water and energy, plan new cities, and restore damaged environments.
What do you like best about being a woman in the AEC industry? Being a woman attorney in the AEC industry is empowering. Despite being historically male-dominated in NYC, the building industry proudly supports eliminating gender stereotypes in every role, at every level-ownership, field and office positions.
What is one of the most exciting developments or innovations impacting the AEC industry right now? As a window manufacturer and early adopter of 3-D printing, Crystal uses this technology to streamline our product development process. Architects, contractors, and installers with special design needs for their construction projects can see actual window component samples before selecting, and our production team can determine the most efficient fabrication process, saving everyone time and money.
What recent project, accomplishment or award are you most proud of? We recently completed two massive Jaguar/Land Rover dealerships in Brooklyn and Long Island and they are stunning! The project started just before the pandemic and we worked through supply chain issues, too. But today, they are active and beautifully structured, bringing economic benefits and jobs to both areas.
What do you like best about being a woman in the AEC industry? As a female HR professional in the construction industry, I support diversity and inclusion in the workplace. A diverse workforce brings different perspectives, cultures, knowledge, experiences, opinions, strengths, and ultimately success to companies who foster a diverse environment.
