MHACY and Mulford Corp. break ground on $44 million La Mora Senior Apartments

Yonkers, NY Governor Kathy Hochul said that construction has begun on a $44 million development that will create 60 energy-efficient and affordable homes for seniors. Known as La Mora Senior Apartments, the development replaces a blighted property with a sustainable building with modern features. A groundbreaking ceremony for the project was held October 12.

HLW designs Fordham’s 29,500 s/f Father McShane Student Center

New York, NY HLW completed the design and development of Fordham University’s Father McShane Student Center. The addition features a lower-level, fitness center (double the size of current facility); a 9,000 s/f student lounge; expanded administrative offices; and a large, versatile events space.

Lendlease breaks ground on Northwell Health’s Medical Pavilion

New York, NY Lendlease, Ennead and Ewing Cole, Northwell Health and local leaders broke ground on the Northwell Medical Pavilion at Third Ave. and E. 77th St. This outpatient care facility will be anchored by innovative cancer care programs led by the Northwell Health Cancer Institute, and also include neuroscience services and cardiac care among a host of other medical specialties.

Skanska selected for two MTA projects $200 million Flushing Line improvements and $113 million 17 new escalators

New York, NY Skanska has been awarded two Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) projects totaling over $313 million. Skanska and its joint venture partner, N.J.-based Railroad Construction Co. have been selected by the MTA to make improvements on the Flushing Line for $200 million. AECOM serves as the project’s engineer.

STUDIO V’s 1,400-unit Halletts North waterfront development approved by NYC council - to include 335 affordable residences

New York, NY STUDIO V received city council approval for their design for a project on the NYC waterfront, Halletts North. The 1,400-unit residential development comprises three mixed-use towers on the Halletts Peninsula in Astoria, Queens and includes 335 permanently affordable residences, a public waterfront park, 21,500 s/f for community facilities, and a 525-space parking garage. The public spaces and park were designed in collaboration with landscape architect Ken Smith Workshop.

Rose Equities and Garden Communities propose mixed-use rental community in Harrison

Harrison, NY Two family-owned real estate companies presented plans to the Harrison Planning Board to transform a shuttered hotel site into a residential mixed-use community. Renaissance Harrison is the proposed transformation of the 28 acre-former Renaissance Westchester Hotel site into a residential community, including retail and cultural venues available to the public.
