Schimenti Construction selected to build 3,100 s/f Chipotle

Chipotle Mexican Grill, the Denver-based company founded in 1993, has named Schimenti Construction to build its newest area restaurant at 625 Broadway. The store is the second to be built by Schimenti for the "fast casual" chain. According to Schimenti senior project manager Joseph Schimenti, construction on the 3,100 s/f store is expected to be completed for mid-summer. The project involves renovating a former Mexican restaurant into a Chipotle. Matthew Schimenti, president of Schimenti Construction, said, "We are gratified that Chipotle has selected us to build a second restaurant for the company in New York City. We are committed to building long-standing and successful relationships with our construction partners. Our extensive experience in retail construction in New York City along with our work many leading retailers put us a great position to continue our new relationship with Chipotle" Schimenti said. Chipotle currently operates over 900 stores throughout the U.S. and has locations in Canada and Europe. Schimenti Construction has built a strong reputation in the retail construction industry and has developed a solid niche in urban construction. The firm builds retail-shopping environments for some of the nations leading retailers including Hollister, TJ Maxx, Kohl's, Best Buy, Fossil, Barnes & Noble, Target, Starbucks, T-Mobile, and Bed Bath & Beyond.

I would like to say there was an outstanding transaction for me this past year but 2024 was more a culmination of long-term relationships, most of which continued to transact. Deals were smaller in many cases but we saw robust leasing both on the agency side as well as on the tenant side.
