Real estate veteran Gubner launches RHYS Commercial

Real estate veteran Cory Gubner, who in the late 1990s founded and quickly turned his four-person commercial real estate services firm into a suburban powerhouse that was merged into FirstService Williams, has launched RHYS Commercial, a privately-held full service real estate advisory company that will serve a range of local, national, and international clients throughout the tri-state marketplace. "There is a growing need today for a strong, large regional commercial real estate services company that is completely client-oriented rather than shareholder driven, whose full concentration is solely on the Tri-State marketplace" said Gubner, the firm's president and CEO. "We aim to fill that void by building a corporate culture at RHYS that focuses totally on creating value for our clients through superior service and performance, backed by superb local market knowledge, without any price share concerns." Armed with an elite start-up team of over a dozen real estate professionals with strong expertise and a proven track record in retail, office and industrial leasing, tenant and landlord representation, investment sales, and asset and property management for all types of commercial buildings as well as health care-related properties, RHYS Commercial is hitting the ground running—it has already been retained as exclusive leasing agent for over 50 buildings in the Tri-State region. Intent on serving clients needs throughout the Conn., N.Y. and N.J. markets, he has surrounded himself with a diverse senior management team, including former colleagues from FirstService Williams. Additionally, Harvey Schulweis, a long-time real estate executive and former partner of Lazard Frères & Co., has come on board as vice chairman and principal of RHYS to focus on its N.Y.C. operations. A pioneering force in the suburban commercial real estate services field for over two decades, Gubner founded Stamford-based Chase Commercial in 1998. Now, just over a decade later, he has formulated an even more ambitious real estate platform designed to best serve the needs of both tenants and owners in one of the most challenging economic environments in recent memory. "We have a golden opportunity today to build a very special and different regionally focused real estate services company—one that's able to combine both extensive suburban and New York City market knowledge, in depth industry expertise and long-term tenant and owner relationships with an unyielding commitment to creating client value. We're looking forward to welcoming new clients as well as renewing existing relationships in this exciting venue," said Gubner. Information on the company, its services and client roster, is available on its website, www.rhysre.com.
