Popkin of RFR honored with "Good Scout Award"

Gregg Popkin, COO of RFR, the New York-based owner/developer/manager of a portfolio of office, hotel, retail and residential real estate that includes Lever House and the Seagram Building, received the "Good Scout Award" at the Boy Scouts of America Greater New York Councils 49th Annual Real Estate Industry luncheon on December 5 at the Hilton New York. Popkin will share honoree status with one other New York real estate industry leader, Michael Laginestra, vice chairman of CB Richard Ellis. Popkin has been an acknowledged leader in the New York real estate community for more than 30 years. As COO of RFR, he directs the daily business functions of a multi-national portfolio that includes prestigious addresses in the United States, Germany and Israel. Popkin began his real estate career under the guidance of mentor Harry Helmsley, and he went on to work with magnate John Tishman at Tishman Realty & Construction. He also held senior positions with Jones Lang LaSalle, CBRE and Beacon Capital. Throughout his impressive career, Popkin has been associated with the management, leasing and/or development of more than 100 million square feet of office space in the New York metropolitan area as well as a plethora of commercial, residential and hotel properties around the globe. An ardent supporter of numerous charitable foundations, Popkin has been active with the Live Strong Foundation, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Diabetes Research Institute, where he was an honoree. He has also been honored by Special Olympics New York, Outreach Counseling Services and the St. Dominic's Home.
