KZA Realty welcomes Scanlon to sales team

According to Kathy Zamechansky, president of KZA Realty Group, Inc., a full-service commercial real estate firm specializing in the New York City and Southern Westchester County markets, Sherry Scanlon has joined the agency to work with clients in the Bronx, northern Manhattan and Southern Westchester. Born and educated in Guyana, Scanlon immigrated to the U.S. in 1980 and worked two jobs before later going into business with her husband as owners of a plumbing supply store in the Bronx. In 20 years as a business owner, she got very involved in the community, including serving on the Pelham Bay Merchant Associated Board as secretary, treasurer, and president for the past 12 years. A participant in numerous charitable events, that's where Scanlon met Zamechansky. A short time later, Scanlon acquired her real estate license through the Bronx-Manhattan North Association of Realtors (BMAR) and was asked by Zamechansky to join KZA. "Sherry is a very dedicated and committed person in every aspect of her life, and I immediately recognized her talents," said Zamechansky. "As a business owner herself, she understands the needs of the market, and is ready to put her lifelong passion for real estate, as well as her personal experience buying and selling for many years, to work for our clients." While helping clients find a suitable location is critical in and of itself, Sherry feels that's just one part of the overall impact of her work. "If I help someone find the best location for their business, and they can then grow and contribute to the local and regional economy, it will foster more business and growth across the board," said Scanlon. "It's not just about closing the deal; what happens after that is important to me as well. Putting my clients in the ideal location will increase the odds that their business will grow and succeed. My goal is to tip the odds in the favor of each of the clients I serve." Sherry is ready to serve the needs of the commercial real estate community, and can be reached at 718-829-5775 or [email protected]. KZA Realty Group (kzarealty.com) is a Bronx, N.Y. based commercial real estate brokerage and development consulting firm. Founded in 1998 by real estate professional Kathy Zamenchansky, KZA specializes in commercial planning, project management, community and government relations, finance, marketing, and communications. Ms. Zamechansky is a member of several community and business organizations in the Bronx and Harlem, including the Board of Directors of the Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation, Board of Governors of the Bronx, the Manhattan Board of Realtors, the Board of Directors of the New Bronx Chamber of Commerce, the Harlem Business Alliance and the Advisory Board for the Fund for the Future Women Leaders of the Bronx.
