P.I.D. receives official certification by SCA

Perfect Interior Designs, Inc. (P.I.D.), one of the country's preeminent distributors of fine engineered wood flooring for more than 20 years and a leading consultant in New York residential, commercial and institutional construction, has been recognized as an official vendor for the School Construction Authority (SCA). The New York-based firm is among a handful of vendors who have met the agency's strict criteria and qualify for school projects. "This was an important achievement for P.I.D., which is known industry-wide for working with only the finest mills," said Steven Skutelsky, director of business development for P.I.D. "As an example, we are an exclusive distributor of Lopark, a German mill that has passed all critical ASTM tests and is the only sustainable engineered wood flooring available. At this juncture, we hold more qualifying accreditations than any other wood flooring distributor in New York." In addition to the approval by SCA, many of the products distributed by P.I.D. are "New York City Materials and Equipment Accepted (MEA #14-08-M)." The firm also holds certifications as a New York City Vendor; New York & New Jersey Port Authority Vendor; New York City Design & Construction Vendor; and Department of Citywide Administrative Services NYC Vendor. P.I.D. is also an ASID Industry Partner, AIA Member and a 19-year member of the National Wood Flooring Association. "Making the effort to obtain these certifications sends an important message to current and prospective clients," said Skutelsky. "We are very serious about which product lines we are willing to represent and our success is a testament to those standards. When the developers of Burj Dubai, the world's tallest residential building, needed top quality underlayment, they called upon P.I.D. to overnight two palates of APA-rated America Standard plywood." In addition to Lopark, whose green flooring products are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), P.I.D.'s other high-end line is Trivaneta Parchetti, a design-focused product that provides an unparalleled range of styles and colors and opportunities for custom creations. A third engineered hardwood flooring line distributed by P.I.D. is Laddes, recognized for its durability and beauty. In the past few years, Laddes flooring has been installed in such luxury condominium projects as District at 111 Fulton St., Chelsea Club at 444 West 19th St., Morgan Lofts at 11 East 36th St., Infinity Flats at 24 East 21st St. and Clement Clarke at 140 West 22nd St. The flooring products of all three mills have undergone Perfect Interior Designs' rigorous testing standards. The Lopark floors have had additional ASTM tests issued by P.I.D.
