What recent project, transaction or accomplishment are you most proud of? For over 20 years I have practiced civil engineering, working at some of the most notable firms in the industry. I was given the opportunity to take on a leadership role, spearheading Phronesis Engineering. The ability to lead a strong civil division and support the goals of the real estate development community has been a major accomplishment, but even more so, I’m proud of the philanthropy groups I have been a part of along the way.
Tell us about a mentor or role model that has influenced your career choices? Robert Lauro of the Lauro Group has been, and continues to be, an influential leader in my career. Having interned for him during college, I have always admired his level of integrity, transparency, trust, and professionalism. Now as the director of operations for Phronesis Engineering (a sister company to The Lauro Groups) I have adopted these same core values that will lead Phronesis to great success.
What is one lesson that you had to learn the hard way? Gaging one’s success based upon others is a fool’s perception. True success is not measured by material things, but by the impression you leave behind upon the ones around you.
What 3 skills do you consider the most important to be successful in your industry?
Patience, The Ability to Reason, and Adaptability. In a demanding industry with constant change and technological advancements, being adaptable is a crucial part of success. It’s important to step back and understand objectives. I work closely with my clients on their projects as it’s an ongoing process that requires innovation, attention, and fine detail.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? I am a husband, and a father of three. Whether it’s coaching or attending sports events, getting away for the weekend, or spending time at home, I value and cherish the time I spend with my family.
