Outside the Region: Experience One Homes and Kalikow Grp. begin Lightbridge Academy

Apex, NC Sweetwater Town Center, a joint project between The Kalikow Group and Experience One Homes, broke ground for a new Lightbridge Academy Child Care Center, one of the first buildings to be constructed in the multi-use complex. Retail Strategies, a Raleigh-based commercial real estate company, is serving as the project sales and leasing team member.

The new Lightbridge Academy location will feature an 11,200 s/f facility with adjacent 5,000 s/f of playground space. The center is predicted to open as early as fall 2020.

It will be operated by husband-wife team Rebecca and Brian Grovestein, who will offer lessons in music and sign language in addition to regular day care services. Sweetwater will be a fully developed, new construction community, combining residential apartments, commercial and an office building around a new town center including grocery, banking, restaurants and a medical clinic. Ten landscaped “pocket parks” and a 4,200 sq. ft. community center with health club and pool complete the amenities for all Sweetwater residents. Sweetwater is located in Apex, NC, a town known as “The Peak of Good Living” and recognized as one of the most desirable places to live in the nation.

“We are incredibly excited to see Sweetwater grow into the community we all envisioned,” said Greg Kalikow, VP at Kalikow Group. “Through a thoughtful combination of residential, office commercial and mixed-use buildings, we’re creating a neighborhood for families and young professionals that will be the envy of the North Carolina real estate market and somewhere everyone will want to live, work and play.”

Sweetwater will also offer seven different styles of homes, ranging from 2,000 to 4,500 /f. Construction is underway.
