New York, NY The New York Building Congress, a coalition of business, labor, professional, and governmental organizations serving the design, construction, and real estate industry, has added three industry executives to its board of directors.
The three appointees are James Bach, executive vice president and COO of Louis Berger; Henry Kuykendall, vice president - New York for Delta Air Lines, Inc.; and Frances Resheske, senior vice president of public affairs at Consolidated Edison Company of New York.
“We are pleased to welcome Frances, Henry, and Jim to the board. Each of these dedicated New Yorkers understands what it takes to make a city thrive. Their unique insights and depth of experiences will be tremendous assets to the board of directors and the Building Congress in the years to come,” said Building Congress chairman Richard Cavallaro.
Bach oversees day-to-day operations of Louis Berger, a global multi-disciplinary consulting organization providing engineering, architectural, planning, environmental, and economic services. He has been with the firm for over 30 years and previously served as COO for the Louis Berger Group, the U.S.-based operating platform. Over his career, Bach has made significant contributions to essential New York projects, including the AirTrains for both JFK and Newark Airports.
Kuykendall is responsible for developing and achieving Delta’s operating and financial objectives throughout New York State, including the company’s key role in the redevelopment of LaGuardia Airport. Prior to his current position, he oversaw the 2013 opening of Delta’s $1.2 billion state-of-the-art international gateway at JFK Airport and a subsequent $175 million expansion in 2015. Until 2011, Kuykendall led a team of 4,000 employees at Delta’s hometown Atlanta operation.
Over nearly two decades at Con Edison, Resheske has earned widespread acclaim as a consensus builder, overseeing a portfolio that currently includes corporate and internal communications; government, community, and media relations; and corporate philanthropy. Before joining Con Edison, she served as general manager of government relations and community development at Brooklyn Union and held several important posts in the Koch administration. In 2003, Mayor Michael Bloomberg named her to the board of directors of the New York City Economic Development Corporation.
“The Building Congress is only as strong as the contributions of our members. These three professionals bring a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the importance of infrastructure investment to the City’s long-term economic growth and quality of life, which will serve the organization well,” said New York Building Congress president Richard Anderson.
