NAHB inducts Mirontschuk of EDI into its Best in American Living Awards (BALA) Hall of Fame

New York, NY The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) inducted Victor Mirontschuk into its Best in American Living Awards (BALA) Hall of Fame at the annual International Builders Show in Las Vegas.

As founder and president of the renowned architectural firm EDI International,  Mirontschuk leads the operation of his firm’s offices in New York, Texas, and California. In announcing the award, the NAHB awards committee cited his innovation in the design industry and his “ability to positively affect the fabric of the communities EDI designs.”

Mirontschuk’s writing and original architectural photography are widely published in industry magazines. Moreover, he is an in-demand speaker on residential design and community planning at meetings and conventions across the country.

In announcing the award, the committee stressed Mirontschuk’s consistent realization of his belief that “the purpose of architecture is the planning and design of projects that improve the quality of life and result in communities of social and economic diversity.”

With typical modesty, Mirontschuk credited his clients, staff, and his partners for the firm’s success.

“Without my clients I would never have received this award,” he said. “My clients have put their trust, faith, and dollars in my care. My staff, many of whom have been with me for decades, always go the extra mile. And my partners, who have come with me on this incredible journey over the years, never flagged in their faith and enthusiasm. We tried, we learned, and we succeeded.”

Established 40 years ago in Houston, EDI has become one of the nation’s largest active civic planning and architectural organizations. A few of the firm’s recently completed projects include the Beacon’s Orpheum and Criterion in New Jersey; the Avalon Huntington Station on Long Island; and The Vault, Beacon Harbor Point, and The Key at Yale & Towne in Stamford, Connecticut.

Also inducted into the Hall of Fame were Herbert Kohler, Jr, CEO of the Kohler Company in Wisconsin and James Sattler, head of the custom homes company that bears his name.
