National Association on Drug Abuse Problems, Inc. signs new 11,384 s/f lease at GFP R.E.’s 520 Eighth Ave.

Manhattan, NY GFP Real Estate said that the National Association on Drug Abuse Problems, Inc. (NADAP) has signed a new 10-year, 10-month lease for 11,384 s/f on the 12th floor of 520 Eighth Ave. in the Garment District.

“We’re proud to welcome NADAP, an organization that plays a critical role in addressing public health and substance use challenges, to 520 Eighth Ave.,” said Jeffrey Gural, chairman of GFP. “The building continues to attract mission-driven organizations and top-tier tenants thanks to its unbeatable location and modern infrastructure.”

Matthew Mandell of GFP R.E. represented the landlord, GFP R.E. Marc Shapses, Eva Shih, and Roi Shleifer of Savills represented the tenant, NADAP, which is expected to move its executive and general office operations upon completion of landlord improvement work in late 2025/early 2026.

Built in 1926, 520 Eighth Ave. is a 26-story office tower comprising over 860,000 s/f of office space. It has proximity to key transit hubs, including the A, C, E, 1, 2, and 3 subway lines, Amtrak, LIRR, and NJ Transit lines.

“We are excited to work with Jeffrey Gural, who is such a generous and philanthropic landlord.  He has welcomed NADAP with open arms and has given NADAP, a seasoned social service provider in business for over 50 years, an affordable and luxurious space to work with,” said John Darin, president and CEO of NADAP.  “He shared with me so many new amenities that he is adding to the building, and that my staff look forward to enjoying, such as a rooftop restaurant, a full-service gym, a soft seating lounge, shared conference room space and much more! We are also looking forward to meeting and partnering with many of the other social service providers in the building.”

“This transaction highlights the importance of partnering with a landlord whose values reflect those of our client,” said Shapses.  “For NADAP, securing space with a landlord committed to community engagement and philanthropy ensures their workplace supports not only their operations, but also their mission of serving New York’s underserved communities.”
