McGovern of NAI Platform and MacAffer of CBRE bring Picklers Pickleball Club to Mid-City Plaza

Menands, NY Pickleball enthusiasts in the capital region have a new reason to celebrate as Picklers Pickleball Club held the grand opening of its indoor 18,500 s/f Pickleball Club featuring six-indoor pickleball courts. Located 3.5 miles from the intersection of 789 and 90 in the Mid-City Plaza, Picklers is one minute off 787 Exit 6, four minutes from the center of Albany and a short 15 minute or less drive from most communities in the Capital Region.

The Picklers Pickleball Club’s parent company is Zero Zero Two Pickleball, LLC.

Picklers was represented by Michael McGovern, broker at NAI Platform. McGovern worked alongside Picklers’ team to repurpose a former supermarket into a pickleball facility. Picklers recognized Nurettin Ulukaya, new owner of Mid-City Plaza, for his support and financial investment in upgrades to the mall. John MacAffer of CBRE represented the landlord.

In line with this commitment, we are proud to offer an extensive array and multitude of leagues, tournaments, prize/cash tournaments and ladders catering to individuals, couples, teams, clubs, offices, communities, and school teams along with open court/drop-in times for those just looking for a game. All tournaments will feature men’s, women’s, and coed divisions with novice, intermediate, and advanced levels. “We are excited to promote pickleball in the Capital Region as an indoor, year-round sport. Our journey with this sport began nine years ago while following two of our children’s collegiate teams—softball and baseball—during their Spring training trips down south. Over time, our passion for pickleball grew, and we’ve been actively seeking the perfect opportunity to establish a year-round pickleball facility in the Albany area. With pickleball’s remarkable growth over the past three years, boasting more than 36 million players nationwide, and the availability of what we view as the most convenient location to serve the entire Capital Region, we knew it was the right moment to take this step,” said Gary Miller, co-managing member.

The grand opening event featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony, exhibition matches, free lessons and trial court times, Picklers Pickleball Club custom tee shirts and special promotions for attendees and, of course, court times for those who want to jump right in and play.
