Marotta rejoins Douglas Elliman Real Estate

According to Douglas Elliman Real Estate, Tamara Marotta, a noted Harlem specialist, is rejoining the company. Marotta is a leading townhouse expert and has sold many historic homes throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn over her 11 year real estate career. Most recently, Marotta was with Sotheby's International Real Estate. She will be based out of Elliman's 1995 Broadway office. "Elliman's longstanding presence in Harlem coupled with their ability to attract buyers on a global scale is an ideal platform for my business," said Marotta, noting that she plans to start her own Team while at Elliman. "I have lived and been active in the Harlem community for more than 14 years and am impressed with Elliman's support of the neighborhood. Not only were they the first major brokerage to open here, but they've also recently expanded their Harlem operation. I'm really excited about coming back and I look forward to heading the Marotta Team under the Elliman umbrella." Marotta started her real estate career as founder and president of her own brokerage, the Marotta Group Ltd., a boutique firm located on West 125th Street in Harlem. Marotta possesses an extensive knowledge of historic properties, historic neighborhoods, and townhouse restoration. She has also studied at Cooper Union University in the field of green building and renovation and is working toward LEEDS certification. "We are thrilled to welcome Tamara back to Elliman. We have the infrastructure in place to support Tamara's Harlem business during this time of great growth in that market. She's one of the best real estate professionals in the business and I'm excited to work with her again," said Jeff Rothstein, executive vice president and director of Sales, Westside and Harlem.
