Manhattan, NY The Wellness Center at 53 West 53 is on par with the finest spas and fitness centers in the world, in a private environment. The full-floor club was designed by Jean Nouvel, the Pritzker Prize-winning architect and mastermind behind the Louvre Abu Dhabi and the Torre Glories tower in Barcelona, and features 15,000 s/f of health and wellness amenities curated and managed by The Wright Fit. The Wright Fit’s on-site staff provides a wide selection of personalized classes, programs and services custom designed for residents at 53 West 53. Their holistic approach to wellness elevates 53 West 53’s Wellness Center and transcends even the most discerning expectations.

Located on the 12th floor, the space includes a full gym, separate high- and low-energy fitness studios, a regulation squash court, golf simulator that lets you play at some of the best golf courses in the world, men’s and women’s saunas and steam rooms and a spa treatment room. Residents will also be able to enjoy a naturally lit 65-ft. lap pool, cold plunge pool and hot tub situated between poolside vertical gardens designed by French botanist Patrick Blanc that use over 3,500 plants giving each garden a rich multi-dimensional texture.

The Wellness Center uses a mix of the finest finishes and materials sourced from around the world. The men’s locker room uses rich matrix stone and the women’s locker room features white crystal throughout. Natural materials and flooring throughout The Wellness Center enhance the sense of volume and compliment the high ceilings, providing residents with natural light and views as they enjoy the many amenities offered and various spaces for health and wellness.

53 West 53 is one of the first residential buildings in the U.S. to partner with Bulgari and offers residents a selection of Bulgari’s shower and body products throughout the building’s amenities and wellness spaces.

The tower stands 1,050 ft. above the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). 53 West 53 is the creation of Singapore-based real estate owner, developer and operator Pontiac Land, known for their properties and mixed-use developments that champion design and hospitality, and Hines, a global leader in international real estate investment and development. 53 West 53 offers an elevated living experience for residents. Over 30,000 s/f of amenities and personalized, five-star-hotel-level services make 53 West 53 one of the most luxurious and elite residential buildings in the world.

53 West 53 rises 82 stories and features 145 one- to four- bedroom residences and 17 studio and one-bedroom suites, including full-floor homes and duplex penthouses with private elevators. The building’s tapering design and Nouvel’s signature exposed structural system, known as the diagrid, means that the layout of each residence is completely unique and uninterrupted as it eliminates the need for interior columns.

53 West 53 features interior architecture by Thierry Despont, known for his work on the Ritz in Paris and Claridge’s in London. Despont’s interiors work within the language of 53 West 53’s innovative architecture and complex sculptural shell, while still creating striking spaces that are unique on their own. By playing up the generous scale and elegant proportions of residences and communal spaces throughout, Despont achieved luxurious interiors that feel as intimate and special as they are modern and voluminous.

“When residents enter the Wellness Center, they are transported to a relaxing oasis that evokes luxury at every corner and inspires an overwhelming sense of grounding calmness,” said Samantha Sax, chief marketing officer of Pontiac Land U.S. “Between the unparalleled design and the sheer variety of health and wellness offerings within the 15,000 s/f, full-floor space, the Wellness Center is a reprieve from daily life and a dedicated venue for self-indulgence and total mind and body wellness.”

“Every aspect of the living experience at 53 West 53 is elevated, and the amenities and level of service available to residents are similar to what you would find at a five-star hotel,” said David Penick, managing director at Hines. “There’s something for everyone within the Wellness Center, and we are thrilled to introduce it as the inaugural component of the building’s expansive and impeccably curated amenity program.”
