Colliers International names retail specialist Edlitz senior managing director

Retail specialist Scott Edlitz has capped an exciting career transition. He recently joined Colliers International as a senior managing director in the firm's retail services group, and finalized a long-term, 19,000 s/f lease for David Barton Gym at The Limelight. With existing locations in New York, Las Vegas, Miami, and Chicago, the newest David Barton Gym will open at The Limelight — located at 20th St. and Sixth Ave. in Chelsea — in the fall of 2014. This transaction is the latest in Edlitz's 17-year career, in which he has represented top-tier tenants, landlords, and developers on a local and global scale and will continue to focus on retail leasing and sales transactions at Colliers International. Prior to joining Colliers International, Edlitz was the executive managing director of the retail services team at NAI Global and led their international retail services initiatives. Prior to NAI, he was the founder and managing principal of ZE Realty Group. He began his career at RKF & Associates where he served as a managing director. "Scott is a key addition to Colliers as we expand our retail services team in New York and his work with David Barton Gym perfectly demonstrates the kind of creative transactions he delivers," said Joseph Harbert, president of Colliers International's Eastern Region. "His extensive leasing portfolio and expert knowledge of the City's retail real estate market is a tremendous asset. Scott will be instrumental in our work with global brands that increasingly look to have a presence in New York City, and local brands that are looking to go global." Throughout career Edlitz has secured transactions with prominent retailers including Teavana, Morton Williams Supermarkets, Lululemon, Chipotle, Valley National Bank, Polo Ralph Lauren, New York Sports Club, Clarks Shoes, CVS, Chase Bank, Citibank, and Walgreens, among others. In regards to the David Barton Gym transaction, the landlord was represented in-house by Daniel Iwanicki, of Ashkenazy Acquisition Corp. Edlitz is representing David Barton Gym in several new locations.
