IIDA NY held 20th anniversary of Color Invasion

Manhattan, NY The International Interior Design Association’s New York Chapter (IIDA NY) held the 20th anniversary of Color Invasion, an industry networking and fundraising event. Held in Manhattan’s Center 415, this year’s Color Invasion theme was “Intergalactic Cosmic Extravaganza.”

Attendees dressed in intergalactic style, in costumes inspired by pop culture science-fiction classics, such as Star Trek, Star Wars, and The Fifth Element. In addition to the celestial-inspired cocktails, and the otherworldly designed spaces within the venue, the event raised proceeds to benefit the Chapter’s student award programs and Pajama Program, a 501(c)(3) organization that provides pajamas and books to children in low-income households.

Color Invasion was originally launched to combat the fear and uncertainty that followed the September 11, 2001 attacks at the World Trade Center. By bringing together hundreds of professionals from the New York interior design community, Color Invasion again marks IIDA NY’s return to in-person programming, emerging from the fear and uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Twenty years later, Color Invasion still champions the resiliency and creativity of New Yorkers.
