IFMA's awards dinner and nominee cocktail party share the spotlight

In order to celebrate and recognize the outstanding efforts of all nominees for the Annual Awards of Excellence banquet being held in January our awards selection committee sponsors a wonderful nominee cocktail party. This years gathering was hosted by silver sponsor, Knoll at their gorgeous showroom. Special thanks to Christine Chavez and all of the folks at Knoll for welcoming us. The Awards of Excellence recognizes both the individual achievements as well as corporate success stories. Individuals and related firms are nominated throughout the year by professional and associate members of the chapter. Each nominee is interviewed by a member of the awards selection committee giving the individual or representative an opportunity to share their pride, excitement and details of their nominated effort. Over the last few years amazing growth in the number of nominees has occurred, the chapter leadership is very proud of the members for reaching out to congratulate their colleagues on the great work they have been doing across New York City. We wish to thank Mindy Williams, IA Interior Architects chairperson of the awards selection committee for all of her diligent efforts in making sure this year's nominee cocktail party and awards banquet will be a smashing success. The many fine members of her committee include: Christine Chavez, Knoll; Jaclyn DiRenzo, Milrose Consultants; Debra Gerstenfeld, Wolf Gordon; Stephanie Bigelow, National Basketball Association; Marc Wasserman, the Millennium Group; Lohn Leitner, Environmental Building Sustems; Tom Daniels, Eagle Transfer; and Matt Poveromo, Walders. For the full list of 2010 nominees visit www.ifmanyc.org. We hope that you all be able to join us at this year's Awards of Excellence Banquet, Thursday, January 27, 2011 at the Pierre Hotel, 2 East 61st St. Tickets are available at the IFMA NYC Chapter Website, www.ifmanyc.org

Most people think of St. Patrick’s Day as a fun footnote on the calendar. In construction logistics, however, it’s a full-scale operational variable — especially if your work touches major metro areas with major parades and, let’s call it what it is, enthusiastic celebrants.
