Hirschfeld Props. signs Icahn School of Medicine at Mt. Sinai to 207 East 94th St.

New York, NY The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital has expanded to 12,000 s/f on the second and third floors at 207 East 94th St., according to Elie Hirschfeld, president of Hirschfeld Properties and owner of the building. The prime lease is for an additional ten years.

The 50,000 s/f building is now 100% occupied, according to Hirschfeld. The asking rent was $55 per s/f. The brokerage firms involved are The Manhattes Group (for the landlord) and Cushman & Wakefield (for the tenant).

The medical school is using the space primarily for its pediatrics, cardiology, hematology and oncology divisions. The tenant wanted a location within a few blocks of the main hospital center and convenient to both the Lexington Ave. subway and the new Second Ave. subway, according to Hirschfeld.

“Several entities were seriously interested in the space, but Mt. Sinai occupies other space in several of our properties, and is among our most prestigious tenants, so we decided to choose the school,” he said. “It has the second floor of our building at 1490 Madison Ave. and is also adjacent to their Hess Center at the Icahn School at 1470 Madison Ave. The new Mt. Sinai Parenting Center is now located at 207 East 94th St., on the second floor. And Mt. Sinai is not only one of the nation’s leading medical institutions and a valued tenant, but it is also a quiet user.”

Hirschfeld Properties is the owner and developer of New York City-area property worth several billion dollars.
