Harris launches LicenseSure: A business formation service for design professionals

According to Patricia Harris, Esq., LEED AP, founder and chief executive officer of LicenseSure LLC, her company has launched www.licensesure.biz, a web-based service dedicated to the business formation and licensing needs of design professionals doing business in New York. LicenseSure assists design professionals - licensed architects, engineers, landscape architects and land surveyors - in forming permitted New York-based entities or qualifying to do business in New York. In addition to assisting with business formation and qualification, LicenseSure offers registered agent services. Unlike most other businesses, owners of design professional firms must comply with specific state licensing requirements in each state in which they do business. Such licensing requirements differ from state to state and often limit the types of entities permitted. Harris said, "LicenseSure was created to deliver cost-efficient and effective legal support services focusing on the specific and complex needs of design professional firms. Too many times, organizational compliance with state licensing regulations is ignored until the disciplinary authorities come calling or a project is shut down due to the use of unlicensed or improperly licensed architects or engineers." LicenseSure expects to offer service in states other than New York in the near future. "Our goal is to have ten states on-line by year-end," said Harris.
