Taconic Investment Partners tops off The Sterling Mason in TriBeCa; 33-unit condo project designed by Morris Adjmi

Taconic Investment Partners has topped off The Sterling Mason, its new condo project at 71 Laight St. in northwest TriBeCa. Upon completion in the fall, the seven-story, Morris Adjmi-designed development will showcase 33 residences. "We are proud to announce this important construction milestone at what is a truly exciting project for Taconic," said Charles Bendit, co-CEO of Taconic along with Paul Pariser. "The Sterling Mason is not only a bellwether for the TriBeCa condo market, but it also represents our philosophy of investing in high-quality assets and maximizing value-add potential through timeless architecture and uncompromising design." A complex development project, The Sterling Mason involves renovating a landmarked, circa-1905 brick warehouse and integrating new construction - a mirror image of the original, but clad in a metallic façade - to blend classic and contemporary and create a single condo with spacious floor plans. With interiors by GACHOT, residences at The Sterling Mason range from two to six-bedrooms and from 2,000 to 5,600 s/f, including three penthouses that were incorporated with the addition of a seventh story and made possible by re-allocating s/f from the interior of the original structure. The Sterling Mason also features a double-size courtyard viewing garden, which is being designed by acclaimed landscape designer Deborah Nevins. Five-inch plank American oak flooring, custom walnut cabinetry and millwork handmade by Henrybuilt, and blackened steel framing are among the bespoke finishes that recall TriBeCa's industrial heritage. In addition to the architecture and finishes, The Sterling Mason provides a caliber of service and amenities that is rarely found in a boutique building. Homeowners will enjoy a fully-equipped fitness center, library club room, bicycle storage, and what will be the first residential children's playroom designed in consultation with the experts at 92Y Wonderplay. Further, private parking spaces and storage units are available for purchase, and a full staff will be on-site, including doorperson, porter, concierge and live-in resident manager. "The Sterling Mason represents the pinnacle of luxury living in TriBeCa and the residential market downtown. We have units going into contract at some of the highest prices per square foot in the area," Bendit said. Douglas Elliman Development Marketing is the exclusive sales and marketing agent for the property.
