Handler adds Siegal as senior managing director

Handler Real Estate Org. has expanded its brokerage division with the addition of industry veteran Diana Rau Siegal as a senior managing director. In her role with Handler, Siegal will primarily focus on representing publishing and media firms, educational facilities, not-for-profit organizations, and other commercial transactions. Prior to joining Handler, she was a senior director at First New York Realty, where she worked for more than two decades as both a tenant leasing representative and a building sales agent. Throughout her career Siegal has amassed a prestigious roster of clients across a wide spectrum of business sectors, including engineering firms, jewelers, theaters, studios, non-profit organizations, advertising, publishing companies, international firms, and educational facilities. "Diana is a versatile and accomplished real estate professional who brings with her a long history of success to our expanding real estate division," said Handler principal Scott Galin. "She has orchestrated many noteworthy transactions around New York City, representing both tenants and owners, and provides the kind of personal, sophisticated service our clients expect." Among her highlights, Siegal represented the legendary Stella Adler Acting Studios in a 24,000 s/f lease expansion and renewal at 31 West 27th St., and completed a 20-year, 32,000 s/f lease renewal and expansion for Collaborative Arts Project 21, a musical theatre conservatory with more than 75 alumni on Broadway, at 18 West 18th St. She also represented the building owner, Western Management, in its sale of 64 West 48th St., a 130,000 s/f office tower near Rockefeller Center, to Muss Development. And in 2006, Siegal was nominated for the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY)'s "Most Ingenious Deal of the Year" award for a targeted marketing campaign that led to the sale of 10 commercial condominium floors at 36 West 44th St. Siegal earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh. She is an active member of the Business Advisory Board of the Young Adult Institute Network that serves more than 20,000 individuals with developmental disabilities, and actively serves on REBNY's Midtown West, Plaza District, and Grand Central committees.
