Gorozdi of Avison Young: Proud of industrial deal

Name: Amanda Gorozdi Title: Senior Associate Company Name: Avison Young What year did you start your career in commercial real estate: 2011 Email: [email protected] Real Estate Associations/Organizations: Commercial Industrial Brokerage Society (CIBS) What recent project or transaction are you most proud of? I am most proud of our recent assignment with the growing company, Spirit Pharmaceuticals. We worked with them to find the ideal location that fit all their specialized requirements after they were considering, and almost, moved out of state. We engaged in intense negotiations with the landlord Rechler Equities, to achieve the most favorable terms as well as achieved Empire State Development IDA benefits on their now new location. In the end, they leased 55,000 s/f of industrial space in Suffolk County for their growing operations, which we later received an award for by Rechler Equities for "Industrial Deal of the Year." What is the first thing you do when you arrive in the office in the morning? Review what I have planned for the day and prepare accordingly. I also read the newspaper almost every day to know what's going on around me and see if I come across anything useful or interesting for our clients. What time management strategies do you find to be the most effective for you? Plan your week in advance and then each morning review your day to plan and change accordingly. Close your email, social media, and anything that distracts you when you want to focus and accomplish your tasks. When making "to-do" lists, decide what your priorities are and know which tasks can wait, which can be delegated, and which can be removed.
