Forest of Walter & Samuels negotiates 15,000 s/f restaurant

After 20 years at 240 Central Park South, New York's famed San Domenico restaurant will relocate to 19 East 26th St. in the Flatiron District at the base of the new condominium conversion 15 Madison Sq. North. The restaurant signed a 21-year lease for 8,000 s/f of ground floor space, 6,000 s/f of concourse space and 1,000 s/f of mezzanine space and expects to reopen as SD26 in spring 2009. Walter & Samuels executive managing director Steve Forest represented the building's ownership—Madison Park Owner, LLC, an investment group he heads with Walter & Samuels chairman David Berley and executive managing director Peter Weiss—in the lease transaction, while the restaurant was represented in-house. The ownership was asking $640,000 per annum for the space. One of New York's most respected property and asset management firms, Walter & Samuels, Inc. is a full service real estate company specializing in asset management, financial analysis, construction and development, residential conversions, and leasing and management.  In addition to managing over four million square feet of commercial space, including office buildings and shopping centers, Walter & Samuels, Inc. has performed over 35 major residential cooperative and condominium conversions in New York City. Walter & Samuels is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year.
