New York, NY Faithful+Gould has served as the owner's representative on the recently completed Porcelanosa Americas Flagship showroom in the Flatiron district. The showroom is located in the former Commodore Criterion landmarked building on 25th St. at the intersection of 5th Ave. and Broadway facing the Flatiron Building and Madison Square Park. The building is 15,000 s/f with seven stories and rooftop event space. It features four floors of showroom space, a café, design center, offices and meeting/training rooms. Porcelanosa is a global leader in the innovation, design, manufacture and distribution of tile, kitchen and bath products. Its showroom was designed by Foster + Partners and Faithful+Gould provided design management, project management, quality control oversight, cost control and scheduling services. The renovation commenced in August 2013 and was completed on September 5. The building encompasses a “high-end finish” space featuring touch screen displays to help clients visualize the array of Porcelanosa products. The grand opening was celebrated on September 9th, in the adjacent Madison Square Park. Porcelanosa partnered with the Madison Square Park Conservancy to host its Fall Fundraising Gala, where more than 700 guests were in attendance. The event host was Meredith Viera, with special guests Sarah Jessica Parker, Richard Gere, Irinia Shayk, Carolina Herrera, Nieves Alvarez, Cayetano Rivera and Chelsea Clinton. Faithful+Gould Lead Project Manager Len Barone stated, "It was an honor to work on this landmark project with such a great client. I look forward to working with them again on future expansion.” Len noted that the last few months were a challenge to meet the opening date and obtain Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) due to delayed imported material deliveries.
