Ten23 was officially unveiled by Equity Residential and is now open for leasing. Designed by architecture firm Gerner, Kronick & Valcarcel to accentuate its location at 500 West 23rd St.
Ten23 Apartments is a 13-story, 111-unit rental building, and the second ground-up development in New York City undertaken by Equity Residential, one of the largest publicly traded owner and operators of multifamily residences in the country. Featuring a mix of studio, one two and three-bedroom residences, Ten23 homes offer open floor plans with floor-to-ceiling low-UV windows.
"There has already been a strong interest and initial leasing activity using only floor plans and hardhat tours," said Tom Lebling, Equity Residential's senior vice president for the firm's Northeast region.
Ten23 is Chelsea's first smoke-free living environment and was awarded Silver Certification by the National Association of Home Builders under the ANSI-certified National Green Building Standard. The building was also awarded The Concrete Industry Board Award of Merit for an Architectural Concrete Structure in 2011.
