EP Engineering provides full MEP
services for ConBud - 5,000 s/f

Manhattan, NY EP Engineering has provided full MEP services for ConBody’s legal cannabis dispensary, ConBud, opening at the prime 85 Delancey St. location downtown. ConBud is one of the first recreational dispensaries to be awarded a social equity CAURD (Conditional Adult Use Retail Dispensary) license by the state and is the sixth licensed cannabis retailer in the city, the only one located in the Lower East Side neighborhood. ConBud is also the world’s first dispensary solely owned and operated by formerly incarcerated people.

The project included the full renovation of the 5,000 s/f space. The work on the new open space sales floor included integrated lit millwork, new staff and customer restrooms, and a large storage and office suite in the cellar.

EP Engineering’s work included reconfiguring the space’s existing mechanical systems to serve back-of-house spaces in order to keep costs low, with new mechanical systems provided for the front-of-house spaces to give it a premium feel. All ductwork was kept within the back-of-house areas to create an open and clean aesthetic to the front sales floor. All services were kept under the EP Engineering and EP Inspections & Commissioning (EPIC) umbrellas, allowing for the special inspections to be expedited and an efficient project close-out.

EP Engineering is honored to contribute to the ConBud project and play a role in the future forward initiatives being driven by ConBody and New York City.

“We are proud to be part of the great work that ConBody and the city are doing with the CAURD License program and to be part of building a more inclusive and hopeful community.” says Joe Vieitez, partner. “This project showcases our team’s dedication to providing services that exceed expectations and fit the unique demands of each project.”

Most people think of St. Patrick’s Day as a fun footnote on the calendar. In construction logistics, however, it’s a full-scale operational variable — especially if your work touches major metro areas with major parades and, let’s call it what it is, enthusiastic celebrants.
