The new lease represents an expansion for City Aquarium, which is relocating from East 16th St. in Manhattan. The company sought to take advantage of the growing affluent residential base in the area that has attracted new and unique retailers, restaurants, manufacturers and office tenants such as Vespa, Triple Five Soul, SBK Florists, Angel Street Thrift Shop, MarieBelle New York and BlenderBox to Northside Williamsburg.
The property at 44 Dobbin St. is located close to McCarren Park, near to public transportation and offers incredible access in the heart of this revitalized neighborhood. The more than a century old structure was built as a horse and carriage barn and was later used for bakery storage.
Since 1998, City Aquarium has been creating custom aquariums and installations that are works of art, working with interior and furniture designers, architects, sculptors and marine biologists.
