50 West 66th St. closes $45 million sale - residence design led by Snøhetta

Manhattan, NY 50 West 66th St., the tallest tower on the Upper West Side, has just closed on a $45 million deal - marking the most expensive sale in the UWS this year. Perched on the 47th floor of the building, it is also one of the highest residences to have ever sold in the Upper West Side. Despite lacking a dedicated website, public listings, or advertising, the building is over 75% sold.

The unit is a five bedroom (plus office), five-and-a-half bathroom residence spanning 6,942 s/f of interior space and a 288 s/f terrace with Central Park and NYC skyline views with North, East and South exposures.

At 70 stories high and 775 ft. above NYC, 50 West 66th St. is the tallest residential tower in the Upper West Side, and is also Snøhetta’s first residential project in the United States.

Their work includes the Norwegian National Opera and Ballet, The Shanghai Grand Opera House, and Beijing City Library, but this project is their first time designing a residential tower in America.

The 50k s/f of amenities at the building include private porte cochère and white-glove service, 24-hour concierge, a full-sized basketball and pickleball court, an indoor saltwater lap pool & spa, fitness center, Pilates & training studios, squash court, bowling alley, golf simulator, screening room, infrared sauna & steam rooms, locker rooms, a kid’s studio, gaming lounge and private storage facilities, an outdoor saltwater swimming pool & spa, sundeck, skyline lounge & sunset bar, terrace & fire pit, lifestyle concierge, and club room all complemented by enchanting Manhattan views.
