DLA Piper welcomes Hanofee to real estate practice

Manhattan, NY DLA Piper welcomes Ryan Hanofee as a partner in the real estate practice. He will spend time in the firm’s Boston and New York offices.

Hanofee has a wide-ranging real estate practice that includes single asset and portfolio joint ventures, financings, acquisitions and sales. He handles transactions throughout the U.S., and his clients include institutional investors, investment advisors, fund sponsors, lenders, family offices, private equity firms, sports franchises, developers and other owners and operators of real estate. His experience spans multiple asset classes, including multifamily, logistics, industrial, life science, office, retail and mixed use.

Hanofee’s experience includes representing a real estate investment management company in the acquisition and financing of two multifamily portfolios totaling approximately U.S. $2 billion; advising an international investment firm in the acquisition, joint venture, and debt financing of a 22-property industrial portfolio; and counseling a private equity firm in the U.S. $270 million portfolio refinancing of 69 office, industrial and flex properties.

“Ryan has a sophisticated practice that fits perfectly with our national and global real estate platform. His experience handling real estate transactions across the U.S. involving multiple asset classes will add further depth to our large U.S. real estate practice. Ryan’s presence will also further strengthen our real estate capabilities in Boston, New York and across the U.S and will bring immediate value to our clients,” said Bryan Connolly, U.S. chair of the real estate practice.

“Ryan is a highly skilled and sought-after practitioner in the real estate sector, and we are thrilled to have him join our award-winning real estate practice,” said Eric Christofferson, managing partner of DLA Piper’s Boston office.

The addition of Hanofee is part of the firm’s commitment to expanding its industry-leading real estate practice and comes on the heels of the arrival of real estate partners Lewis Goss II and Warren Seay, Jr., who joined the firm in April.
