Developers Hidrock and Robert Finvarb Cos. top off 25 West 37th Street

Developers Hidrock Realty and Robert Finvarb Cos. have celebrated the topping off at 25 West 37th St., the city's first SpringHill Suites by Marriott. When completed in early 2013, the 19-story, $54 million hotel project will feature 173 suites. With this year's tourism statistics expected to surpass 2011's unprecedented 50 million visitors, the new hotel will cater to Midtown's growing number of business travelers and tourists. The event was an important milestone for Hidrock, as it marked the company's first foray into the hospitality industry. Traditionally an office owner, Hidrock is currently developing two hotels in addition to the SpringHill Suites, including an office conversion at 960 Avenue of the Americas, slated to be a Courtyard by Marriott; and a ground-up development site at 133 Greenwich St., which Hidrock recently acquired in partnership with Robert Finvarb. The builder was Flintlock Construction Services and the architect was Gene Kaufman Architect. Shown (from left) at the topping off ceremony are: Jack Hidary, CEO of Hidrock Realty; Abraham Hidary, president of Hidrock Realty; Eddie Hidary, vice president of Hidrock Realty; David Marriott, COO, Eastern Region, The Americas at Marriott International; Steven Hidary, vice president of Hidrock Realty; and Robert Finvarb, CEO of Robert Finvarb Cos.
