DeAngelo named president of WTS Greater New York; Camay named chapter's Member of the Year
Beth DeAngelo, P.E., a VP with Parsons Brinckerhoff, has been named president of the Greater New York Chapter of the Women's Transportation Seminar (WTS). The chapter has also named Stephanie Camay, a lead planner at Parsons Brinckerhoff, its Member Of the Year.
DeAngelo has over 20 years of experience in program and project management on traditional and alternate delivery highway, traffic, facility, transit, and ITS projects. A member of WTS since 1994, she previously served as the chapter's New Jersey VP and as leader of its inaugural Transportation You workshop for middle school girls geared towards learning about STEM careers in transportation.
Camay serves as the project coordinator for the NEC FUTURE, a long-term investment program for improving and growing the Northeast Corridor rail service to accommodate future ridership.
She has over ten years of transportation planning experience, and has also developed a communications background through project work and her association with various transportation organizations. Her involvement with WTS includes serving as the chapter's Secretary and overseeing the Communications Committee since 2012, serving as the NY Programs committee Co-Chair from 2008 to 2012, and participating as an apprentice in the chapter's Mentoring Program.
Camay is also active in the Transportation Research Board (TRB) as a member of the visualization, public involvement, and ferry committees; committee communications coordinators council; and young member council. She has served on TRB's cooperative research panels, delivered numerous presentations, and her work has been published in the Transportation Review Record and TR News. In recognition of her service to TRB, she was honored with the inaugural Outstanding Young Member Award during TRB's 2013 annual meeting.
