Conley Assocs. leases 6,557 s/f to Behan at 86 Glen St.

Conley Associates was retained over the past year by Behan Communications for tenant representation and design services. Conley Associates assisted the firm in obtaining a 6,557 s/f, 15-year lease within the historic 86 Glen St. building. The building is over 100 years old and was originally The Glens Falls Auto Company, one of the first automotive dealerships in the city. Studebakers and Knox automobiles were sold from inside the building, unlike our outdoor car lots of today. The landlord is Peter Hoffman of Glen Street Associates, who purchased the building in 2004 and is currently heading up the redevelopment of the downtown area. Hoffman said, "Conley did a very good job. They were very helpful with getting the leases completed and I enjoyed my relationship with them." Behan Communications officially moved into their offices at the beginning of August and the interior design portion is now completed, which includes the collaboration of ideas from both Conley and Behan. The décor in the new offices is described as a mix of traditional and modern, with curved lines which are evident in the shape of the furniture, walls and flooring. It possesses a daring mix of colors (including; tomato red, mustard yellow and eggplant purple) exposed brick walls and original hardwood floors. The furniture is coupled with oriental rugs and industrial features, all throughout. With its tomato red walls, art-deco lighting and reception desk created using corrugated tin and fine wood, the style is demonstrated when walking through the firm's doors.
