Chopp of Case Property: Learns from every new project

Name: Shlomo Chopp Title: Managing partner Company/firm: Case Property Services Years with company/firm: 6 Years in field: 7 Years in real estate industry: 11 Address: 3008 Ave. L, Brooklyn, NY Telephone: 646-412-5888 Email: [email protected] URL: www.caseps.com Which professional accomplishment, honor or achievement has meant the most to you and why? The day I got a struggling owner off the hook for a personal judgment of $50 million - without using any litigation, just pure negotiation. Which project, deal or transaction was the "game changer" in the advancement of your career? I learn from every new project, and it somewhat slightly nudges my career trajectory. Whether it is real estate/business knowledge, or just varying human tendencies and approach, I live to learn, and therefore I grow. What advice would you give to those just starting out in commercial real estate? Know what you don't know, how to compensate, and create multiple contingency plans. How do you manage your personal and work life? I keep in mind what and for whom I am working. It doesn't hurt to have probably the most supportive wife ever. Who or what has been the strongest influence on your career and why? There are just too many people to thank. I try to be a human "fund of funds," taking best practices from all whose path I cross. Where would you like to be 10 years from today? I would like to see my business continue its growth to be the leading property turnaround firm in the nation.
