Blair, Kearns and Mekles of Cushman & Wakefield lease 3,423 s/f

The Laura and John Arnold Foundation (LJAF) has leased a pre-built suite on the 18th floor at 250 West 57th St., according to Anthony Malkin, president of Malkin Holdings LLC, which supervises W&H Properties. The organization will move into its new space of 3,423 s/f in September. Erik Harris and Aaron Maltz of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank represented the tenant in the lease negotiations. Harry Blair, Sean Kearns and Kelli Mekles of Cushman & Wakefield represented the landlord. "Our pre-builts are perfect for organizations such as LJAF, which seek a prestigious, environment with no build-out required," said Malkin. "The suites also have wide appeal because of their efficient layouts and high-end furnishings, and the energy." "250 West 57th Street also has significant appeal because of its location near Columbus Circle and Central Park, with direct subway station access - in a neighborhood that is the new home of such entities as Young & Rubicam and Open Society Foundations (formerly Soros Foundation)," he said. Other recent, notable developments in the neighborhood include Random House's recent renewal of its space at 1745 Broadway, two new major hotel developments at Broadway and 55th Street, the new residential development at 157 West 57th Street, and the newly announced Nordstrom's New York City flagship store at 225 West 57th Street. The LJAF was founded by John Arnold, former manager of the hedge fund Centaurus Energy, and his wife, Laura, a former corporate lawyer.
