7th Annual NYS Comm'l. R.E. Conference set for June 16-18

By Maureen Wilson, CCIM, SIOR The 7th annual NYS Commercial Real Estate Conference is set for June 16-18, 2008 at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona, N.Y. Joseph Rowley, Jr., of CB Richard Ellis/Rochester is the conference chairman. The 16th will kick off the 1 ½ days of a marketing/networking session, moderated by Jim Wilson, CCIM, SEC of Fla. and Bill Stonaker, CCIM, SEC of Tex. The annual golf outing will also take place on the 16th on the world class Shenandoah course. June 17th will feature a full day of marketing. Also on the 17th for the first time, the conference will offer a leasing round table for those practitioners who focus on leasing, rather than sales. This will be a great addition to the conference! The day will conclude with a welcome reception which will be another great networking opportunity. There will be something for everyone this year, whether you are new to the business or a seasoned practitioner. On June 18, attendees will have the option of attending six different courses as follows: * "Comprehensive Due Diligence is Key in Real Estate," instructed by Tim Conley, CCIM; * "Getting, Working & Keeping the Commercial Brokerage Business," instructed by Joseph Larkin, CCIM; * "Commercial Real Estate Financing Understanding How it Works and How to Close," by James Runko and Jackie Conti; * Intro to Marketing Commercial and Investment Property, instructed by Robert Giniecki, CCIM, SEC and James Wilson, CCIM, SEC; *"Negotiation Skills," instructed by Bill Burgess, SIOR; and * Code of Ethics Training, instructed by Patrick Reilly (between January 1, 2005 and December 31, 2008, every REALTOR is required to complete 2.5 hours of code of ethics training). Courses will be submitted to the NYS Dept. of State to obtain real estate continuing education credit. Herbert Krumsick, CCIM, SIOR from Wichita, Kans. will be the keynote speaker during the lunch on the 18th. A special thanks to the sponsors!
