What recent project, accomplishment or award are you most proud of? I was honored to be recognized as a 2024 Construction Dive Construction Champion in the Mentor category. I’ve found immense fulfillment in spearheading the Construction Career Accelerator training program at my organization, where I positively impact lives through job placement and professional development opportunities.

What do you like best about being a woman in the AEC industry? Women in AEC bring unique perspectives and opportunities for innovation. I appreciate breaking barriers and contributing diverse viewpoints to both training and employment projects. It’s rewarding to empower other women in this traditionally male-dominated field and foster a more inclusive and dynamic work environment.

What is one of the most exciting developments or innovations impacting the AEC industry right now? Modular construction is revolutionizing AEC through increased efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness. Prefabricating building components off-site accelerates projects and reduces waste. This approach addresses labor shortages and environmental concerns, shaping the future of construction and energy efficiency.

What is your favorite building in New York? As a proud Bronx native, I see my passion for construction, hip hop, and hometown pride in Bronx Point. Its striking design and community focus, along with being the home of the Universal Hip Hop Museum, make it my favorite building in NY—a beacon of progress in the Bronx.
