2025 Women in CRE: Anna Berger, Trayd

Anna Berger
Founder & CEO
Trayd

What has been the most rewarding project or deal you’ve worked on in your career, and why?

It’s not one deal — it’s the hundreds of back offices we’ve transformed across the real estate and construction industry. Helping companies modernize how they handle payroll and compliance has paved the way for real business growth: fewer bottlenecks, more visibility, and the ability to scale with confidence. Knowing our work creates more opportunity for owners, admins, and workers alike is what makes it truly rewarding.

What skill or quality do you believe is essential for success in your field today?

Consistency. In the world of payroll and compliance for the real estate and construction industry — especially in a market as complex as New York City — success hinges on delivering accurate, reliable support every single day. Our partners rely on us to navigate shifting regulations, union requirements, and high-stakes timelines. It’s consistency that builds trust, ensures compliance, and keeps projects moving without disruption.

If you could change one thing about the CRE industry, what would it be and why?

The slow adoption of new technology — and the skepticism that often comes with it. There’s so much innovation happening around us, yet the industry is often hesitant to embrace change. I wish more people and companies were open to the tools that can make their businesses faster, safer, and more scalable. When we let go of “the way it’s always been done,” there’s real potential to unlock growth and efficiency across the board.

What advice would you give to a woman considering a career in commercial real estate?

Be bold. Know the answer before someone asks, and trust your expertise. Don’t be afraid to push into rooms or roles where it doesn’t look like you belong — because you do. This industry needs more women with vision, grit, and a strong point of view. Own your seat at the table, even if you have to pull up the chair yourself.
