2025 Ones To Watch - Industry Leaders: Elie Rieder, Castle Lanterra

Elie Rieder
Founder and CEO
Castle Lanterra

Turning problems into opportunities:

I have been fortunate to be a third-generation real estate entrepreneur, drawing inspiration from both my grandfather and father, who each developed distinct but complementary investment strategies. When I launched CL, I merged these two strategies, leveraging my multi-generational foundation to create a hybrid approach. I have found that in any deal it is key to allow room for everyone to succeed, including partners, tenants, and stakeholders. Strong relationships can create deals that would not have otherwise occurred and transform challenges into opportunities.

Sharing knowledge and expertise:

I have found that sharing knowledge with the next generation of leaders is key. My advice has been that success comes down to being disciplined, resilient, and having the foresight to think long term. When you don’t have all the answers, stay curious. Ask questions, seek advice, and actively find solutions. Take the initiative to solve problems and make things happen - always forward thinking, never reactive. The best leaders in our industry have a clear understanding of risk, capital preservation, and long-term value creation.

Who was/is your role model and/or leadership mentor?

I draw inspiration from both my father and grandfather.
