Beyond Buildings: How do you see innovation in commercial real estate creating a broader impact on communities and the people who live and work in them? Real estate is always evolving, and our priorities are shifting too. The once-thriving business corridors of my hometown, like Melville in Huntington, have been reshaped by hybrid and dispersed workforces — forcing us to rethink planning. I also see firsthand, through my work with a regional public utility, how our energy infrastructure must evolve to meet changing real estate needs, support housing growth, and power future technologies.

Innovative Outlook: Where do you see the biggest opportunities for innovation in the commercial real estate sector? As part of our Economic Development Team, I focus on incentivizing smart development — projects that meet today’s needs while reimagining the future. Whether it’s repurposing a big box site or improving local infrastructure, better use creates greater impact. From expanding energy transmission to investing in sewers, roads, and water systems, we’re helping build sustainable, connected communities.

Corporate Culture: How does your organization foster a culture of innovation among employees and leadership? As co-practice group leader for our real estate teams this past year, I’ve focused on strengthening collaboration across Real Estate, Land Use & Municipal Litigation, Economic Development, and Real Property Tax Certiorari & Condemnation. Our goal is simple — work smarter together to deliver strategic, efficient, and innovative solutions that create real value for clients and the communities we serve.
