Donald Henry, Jr.
Managing Principal
Urbahn Architects

What person, project, transaction, or market trend had the greatest impact on your industry this year? NYC’s decision to contract its projects in the design/build method has opened new opportunities for the AEC industry and improved the quality of public work. Urbahn was the executive architect for the city’s first design/build project in history, $74 million Queens Garage. What was your greatest professional accomplishment or most notable project, deal, or transaction in 2023? Our firm has launched Urbahn International, a new Jakarta-based studio focused on public, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, educational and multifamily work in the ASEAN Region, including in Indonesia’s capital of Nusantara. We have already won two new projects in Bali, 70 villas for convalescing patients and their families and an accessibility upgrade of the Grand Inna Bali Beach Hotel.
