2023 Women in Construction: Dana Zichlin, Consigli Construction Co.

Dana Zichlin
Project Manager
Consigli Construction Co.

In the past year, what project or accomplishment are you most proud of? The past year has brought several milestones and accomplishments, but the one I’m most proud of is wrapping up three-plus years of construction on One Bell Slip at Greenpoint Landing with Brookfield Properties. Our team was in the early stages of superstructure when the pandemic began, yet we managed to deliver the building on schedule.

We worked tirelessly as a team to reevaluate our on-site logistics amid supply chain issues and workforce shortages.

What was a pivotal point in your career? A pivotal point in my career was getting to start a construction project from the very beginning—before we broke ground. It broadened my outlook and gave me a better understanding of everything it takes to construct a new building in New York City, from soil sampling to permits, to energy code, to all the city agencies involved. My understanding of construction before this experience was limited, and I’m thankful that I was able to have this opportunity to widen my perspective.
