In the past year, what project or accomplishment are you most proud of? Outfitting a dance studio with theatrical lighting.
Which professional associations or organizations would you recommend to women who are starting out in the AEC industry?
NMSDC, Professional Women in Construction (PWC), DBIA and WBC.
What was a pivotal point in your career? After my corporate position was outsourced, I leveraged my professional experiences from the financial and fashion industries to start my own design firm in 2006. I transitioned from residential to commercial interiors after the economic downturn of 2008. I have since worked my way up through the construction industry by providing expertise as project management, interior finishes, product research/sourcing and product specifier.
How can AEC companies recruit more women? By reaching out to universities, young professionals, and Trade schools to offer Intern opportunities that can transition to full time employment.
What is your favorite building in New York?
One World Trade Center - WTC.
