2023 Ones to Watch Rising Stars: Stephen Asihene, SAB Capital

Stephen Asihene
Investment Sales Associate
SAB Capital

Number of years at firm: 2+

One thing on my bucket list: Visit every country in Africa

When I am not working, I am: Spending time with my daughter and wife, or working out and staying in shape.

What recent project, transaction or accomplishment are you most proud of? My most recent transaction that I’m particularly proud of was the execution of a 1031 exchange for a client into a Hooters site in Columbia, SC, which was significant to me due to the market conditions we were operating in. At a time when rates were high and changing daily, we were able to take advantage of a great spot in a volatile market to achieve an aggressive cap rate - especially considering the years remaining on term. The transaction concluded with a successful exchange into an investment grade, corporately guaranteed tenant.

What makes this nominee a RISING STAR?
“Stephen continuously displays the drive, grit, and industry insight needed to carve out a path in CRE. His ability to connect with clients to procure opportunities catered to their unique criteria acts as an advantage in this space, and the results speak for themselves when his deals come to close.” - Michael Grunberg, Vice President, Investment Sales at SAB Capital
