2023 Ones to Watch Rising Stars: Sam Matayev, Norman Bobrow and Company

Sam Matayev
Broker
Norman Bobrow and Company

Number of years at firm: 4

One thing on my bucket list: Start a nonprofit organization to help students who are unable to pay for college.

When I am not working, I am: Spending time with my new wife, reading, and exercising.

What recent project, transaction or accomplishment are you most proud of? Earlier this year I completed a renewal for an accounting firm. They originally signed a lease in 2018, and their rent had escalated over the years. I renegotiated their lease and got them a new deal at a 30% discount and squeezed 11 months of free rent on a new ten-year deal. I also secured flexibility for my client by including termination options in the fifth and seventh years of the lease with a small penalty.

What makes this nominee a RISING STAR?

“Sam has an uncanny ability to develop trust with people right off the bat. This skill coupled with his consistency, hard work, and “gift of the gab” are fantastic traits that will set him up for continued success.” - Josh Berger, Vice President at Norman Bobrow and Company
