2023 Ones to Watch Rising Stars: Alberd Misku, Collado Engineering, DPC

Alberd Misku
Associate Plumbing/Fire Protection Engineer
Collado Engineering, DPC

Number of years at firm: 9

One thing on my bucket list: To see a rocket launch in person.

When I am not working, I am: Catching up on the latest tech news, playing intermural sports with my friends, and planning my next trip abroad

What recent project, transaction or accomplishment are you most proud of? I’m proud to have worked on many projects that have tested my abilities as an engineer and required me to alter my approach out of the standard norm. This has allowed me to lead MEP renovations of hotels, churches, high-end restaurants, and residential/commercial buildings all within the same year. Most notably was a new elevated flood resilient MEP utility building supporting the Haven Plaza Residential Complex after hurricane Sandy flooded parts of the lower east side. The building houses the water heaters and boilers supplying heat and hot water for the complex even during emergency events and power outages.

What makes this nominee a RISING STAR?

“During his time at Collado Engineering, Alberd has shown tremendous initiative and provides creative solutions to our clients. He is a strong collaborator both with our internal team and external consultants. He provides a great leadership example for our younger staff to strive for and is overall an exemplary employee.” - Miguel Quintanilla, Principal at Collado Engineering
