What aspect of your position do you find most challenging?

One of the most challenging aspects of my role is the daily balance of the many different personalities in our industry. With such a dynamic range of people, it is critical to understand each interaction and to have the ability to transition between varying communication styles carefully. What works for one discussion may be dramatically different for another.

What leadership role outside of the workplace is most rewarding to you?

For me, the most rewarding leadership role outside of the workplace is being president of the local little league team in my town. My program provides baseball programs for nearly 500 kids ages 4-12 from many different backgrounds; It has been incredibly rewarding to give back to my community’s youth.

What advice would you give the next generation of leaders in your industry?

The advice I was given very early in my career was to be thorough, efficient, and well-versed in what you are communicating. Most of our daily tasks revolve around good communication, so my advice is to understand the information you are trying to express to the very best of your ability.
