Name: Gunther Schnorr

Title: Senior Environmental Engineer

Company Name: D&Amp;B Engineers and Architects, P.C.

Who or what do you attribute to your success?
My success can be attributed to my trust in the engineering process, which I utilize to identify, evaluate and overcome challenges specific to each project site. In doing so, I can develop optimal site-specific solutions that cost-effectively meet the unique needs of our clients.

?What advice can you offer to someone who is just getting started in your industry?
When you are tasked with developing a solution to a problem, pay attention to all the details and do not be afraid to ask questions to be absolutely sure you understand the client’s problem; failing to clearly understand what you’ve been tasked to do could be detrimental to your work, your team and your client. Also try not to take yourself too seriously or sweat the small stuff because doing so will distract you from the overall mission.

Who are some leaders that you admire and why? ?
The leaders I admire are those who possess an innate ability to remain open-minded, are receptive to criticism and suggestions, and foster a collaborative team environment. These types of leaders remain humble and can put their decades of project experience aside to achieve the best possible results for a client.

What was your favorite thing to do when you were a kid?
I grew up in a rural area north of Syracuse and loved spending my time outdoors. This included everything from playing whiffle ball to hiking, fishing, and camping.
