2017 Year in Review: Lev Mavashev, Alpha Realty

Name & Title: Lev Mavashev, Founder & Managing Partner

Company Name: Alpha Realty

Address: 12 West 32nd Street – 5th Floor

What was the best decision you made in 2017 and why?

As transaction volume decreased in Manhattan and Brooklyn, we decided to broaden our area of focus.  I now have a team focusing on Queens and the Bronx, and we are tremendously active in those boroughs now. Multifamily is still our specialty, and we now have the reach to source deals in all boroughs.

What trends will impact your business in 2018?

Increasing rates will obviously put pressure on pricing; however I see the New York multifamily market strengthening in 2018.  New buyers are already entering the market and sellers will be under pressure to properly price the assets as rates increase. It will be a healthy market for properly priced deals.
